Positive: A Michelin starred chef at picturesque, historic farm house next to spectacular Roman ruins in UNESCO World Heritage site? Incredible, but true. This place is becoming an open secret among international foodies (already highly recommended in the French equivalent of the Lonely Planet), and I just feel lucky that we were able to stay there before it starts being booked up years in advance. Far and away the best meal we enjoyed in Morocco. Five courses, farm-fresh organic ingredients, imaginative blend of Moroccan and European flavors, portioned perfectly, presented beautifully, for about $20 per person. Host is charming, extremely generous, proficient in many languages, not least English, French and Dutch. Be sure to him about the history of the farm, the Roman spolia (repurposed building materials) incorporated into the garden, and the restaurant scene in Utrecht.
