Summary: The Palais is beautiful and in a perfect location in the Medina. The appointments of the home and rooftop living are spectacular. Breakfast was wonderful. We had some difficulty with communication with the "butler" and in the future wouldn't book a riad with a "butler". For instance the VRBO booking page says free transportation to and from the airport, but the "butler" had us pay for the arrival leg (granted it was from the train station and not airport but the train station is closer) and we had to dicker a bit to not have the trip to the aiport at the end charged to us. Additionally, we felt the service from the staff wasn't explained and therefore we didn't know what to expect - whether the "butler" was there to guard/care for the house or take care of the guests. Example: a prolonged check-in period where it wasn't clear if we needed to wait for the "butler" to scan in all our documents or if we could start unpacking. that process took over an hour and we were travel weary and uncertain of what to do without communication. Plus several unclear texts regarding how to pay for excursions. Still we had a good time exploring the city from the beau tiful home.

Summary: This hidden red jewel in the heart of the Medina is an experience on to itself. It's been carefully renovated and decorated with lavish details that invite the imagination at every turn. The bedrooms are comfortable and of different sizes; some wirh more natural light than others (some are in fact a little too dark). The terrace is fantastic and offers wide views of the Medina.
But perhaps the most salient aspect of this riad is the wonderful manager, Hassan, and his team. He went out of his way to arrange dinners, excursions and other services, always with a friendly disposition. He made us feel at home at taken care of at every turn.
