The cabin is located on Three Rivers Island, nestled between the Diversion Canal and the Petite Amite River. BRING YOUR BOAT AND JET SKIS! The island is a golf cart community and a 4 seater golf cart is included with the rental. Get ready for an ADVENTURE as you head over the bridges onto the island. With no vehicles allowed, you can enjoy peaceful tranquility away from the noise of everyday life!
Bayou Breeze Bungalow is a 600 sq ft cabin, fully furnished with a living room, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 loft spaces and 1 bathroom. The master bedroom sleeps 2 in a queen sized bed, the guest bedroom contains bunk beds with a full bed on the bottom and twin on the top, and each loft space has a full-sized bed. The cabin has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, and a gas grill (on the bottom deck) with propane tank included. Linens, towels, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, and garbage bags are provided. Some general cleaning supplies are provided along with a swiffer sweeper, swiffer wet jet, and vacuum. There is no washer/dryer but there is a laundromat off Hwy 22. There are no closets, however there is a 2 drawer nightstand in the master and each bedroom has hooks on the back of the doors for hanging garments.
Sip your morning coffee from the upstairs balcony, relax on the bottom deck in the rocking chairs, or soak in the hot tub with your drink as you watch the boats pass. Our property features private waterfront decking and two boat slips. You can enjoy nature, fishing, boating, grilling, and eating South Louisiana cuisine. Take a boat ride or simply walk around the island to see beautiful swamps with large cypress trees dressed in drooping moss. On a good day you might see turtles, alligators, nutria and snowy egrets. A community pool and gazebo is available to renters. We have a BRAND NEW DOCK with 2 boat slips and a spot for jet skis. Canal Bank offers a boat launch approximately 3 miles from the camp on the Diversion Canal. If you would like to rent a boat, visit www.geauxoutdoors.net or call 225-937-4828. Boats and trailers must be parked outside of the gated gravel parking lot.
There are several bars and restaurants close by that can be accessed by golf cart and boat, Lagniappe's, Tiger Hut Bar and Rum Buoy's. Kevin's Seafood, Canal Bank, Boondock's and Hilltop Restaurant can be accessed by car and boat. Brian's Supermarket, Chris' pharmacy, King's Way gas station, Sarita's Bar & Grill, New Orleans Daquiri, Dollar General, and Subway can all be accessed by car on Hwy 22. Menus are available in the cabin.
The cabin is convenient to LSU if you are coming in for a game but don’t want to be in the city. It is located about halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. If you love to shop, Tanger Outlet Mall is in Gonzales about 25 minutes away and right across from Cabela's which will be sure to keep the men occupied. Malco Cinema movie theater and Premier Lanes bowling alley are located on Airline Hwy also in Gonzales. For antiques and souvenir shopping, The Cajun Village is located in Sorrento about 20 minutes from the cabin. This That and More Indoor Flea Market is also about 20 minutes away in Gonzales.
We don't restrict access to the lofts, but we are not responsible for any injuries that may occur by entering the loft areas. Children must be supervised on walkway and pier at all times. We are not responsible for anyone falling or drowning in water. We've had recently added a bulkhead, new 12 foot decking and 2 boat slips.
Renters must follow all golf cart rules. No one under 16 is allowed to drive golf cart. After you book your reservation, you will receive instructions via email on directions, where to park, how to access our golf cart, and the location of the cabin.
