Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Beautiful and calm oasis, just 20 min from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Close to city and airport. Property has lovely gardens, and offered spacious bungalows with added privacy - tbh the photos don’t do the place justice. Gorgeous Orange & lemon trees and bougainvillea dotted all around with ample and lovely places to unwind and relax. Stunning artwork and attention to detail everywhere. Staff were really kind and attentive. The entire hotel has a calm atmosphere, 2 lovely pools - decent sized - although not heated which meant a late Nov / early Dec visit was too cold to swim.

Negative: The location is a bit isolated and not much going on around here - that said - we knew this and were ok with it as we had a car. For travellers without a car I’d imagine it would be a little awkward getting there and back for meals etc (every taxi ride is a haggle!) Sign posting for the hotel could be better - it’s accessed off a dirt road and we waited 20 min on arrival for someone to open the main gate to let us inside with our car. Once inside though we quickly forgot about our wait as everything was beautiful and we were welcomed warmly. The Loudi offers a small selection of food for breakfast & light snacks / meals but I’d say this could be improved as they grow. We enjoyed the breakfast on 2 days of our stay (one of which was served on our terrace of our bungalow on our last day at our request). A bigger selection of meals would be nice particularly as there are no food options around the hotel. Perhaps a buffet with lovely fresh fruits, Moroccan pastries and either treats like jams & honey and argan would be a lovely way to showcase all Moroccan cuisine has to offer. The one major downside for us was the bed. Some people love a firm mattress and if that’s your thing then you will be very happy, however we prefer a more medium/ soft mattress so didn’t sleep very well. We asked for an additional mattress topper after night 1 and were provided with some soft blankets which although were quite cosy, did not really help with the quality of our sleep. That said, it is really down to personal preference. One other point to note is that they charge MAD100 / hour for late checkout. We had a late afternoon flight so we paid for an extra 2 hours but perhaps this could have been waived given we spent 4 nights & there didn’t seem to be a major rush of people waiting to check in.
