Rejuvenate at our family home, 2.5 miles from Beaver Creek marina on Lake Cumberland, in Monticello, KY.
Nine generations of our family have enjoyed this property. Parts of the original cabin are incorporated into the current structure.
Four outdoor areas allow you to enjoy a calm sunrise or sunset, grill a feast, or roast a treat over the fire pit.
The home has been lovingly cared for and enjoyed by our extended family. We hope we can pass peace and a playful spirit on to yours!
The home is situated up a small hill with a circular driveway and plenty of parking. You can park a boat, and depending on trailer length you may be able to make the turn on the driveway. If not, there is plenty of room to back a trailer into the side yard and pull out forward.
There are two bedrooms. One with 1 queen size bed. One with 2 queen size beds. There is a new sleeper sofa (queen size) in the living room and a queen size sleeper sofa in the family room. This is a total of 5 queen size beds. A camping cot is available.
The bedrooms and living room are new and feature locally sources red oak hardwood floors, solid core doors and insulated interior walls for noise suppression. The stone fireplace may be used either prior permission from the owners. There are a few “rustic” exposed walls, a wood ceiling and beams. These are original to the 1 room (then 2 room cabin). The center beam that the structure sits on is partially the original rough cut log!
There is a main bath with a tub and shower. The laundry room features a new washer dryer, utility sink, commode and shower. The house is on city water and has excellent pressure.
The kitchen has been updated with new vinyl flooring, storage, and utensils, cookware, and decor. It is ready for you to prepare a full country breakfast to start your day off right!
The family room has a 55in smart tv so you can use your streaming accounts. In addition, the hutch is stocked with coloring books, crayons, board games and books for your enjoyment!
The house is heated and cooled via a zoned heat pump/mini-split system. Each bedroom and the main part of the house have their own thermostats so you can choose your comfort level.
The house boasts three porches/patios. All are equipped with comfortable seating to enjoy quietude or socializing. The back patio has a propane grill. A back yard fire-pit with seating is a perfect place to spend a chilly evening; cut and stacked wood is available for your use.
Feel free to “nature bathe” using a short path that has been cut through the woods. Watch out for poison ivy. All sorts of wildlife including stray cats, deer, bobcats and an occasional black bear roam the area. Maybe you will see something fun!!
